Marine Safety Systems - Marine Rescue
Marine Rescue Systems and Marine Safety Equipment

Although a fall protection will arrest a fall from height on board and prevent more serious injury, it’s unlikely that the person involved would be able to recover themselves: specialist marine rescue systems and equipment used by trained personnel will be required to effect a speedy, efficient marine rescue or recovery.

Failure to recover an unconscious worker suspended in a safety harness within 20 minutes of a fall could lead to suspension trauma, which in some cases can be fatal - so marine rescue systems are crucial.

Uniline offers a range of superbly engineered and highly intuitive marine rescue systems and evacuation products which, when combined as part of a complete access solution, effectively mitigate risks on board and at sea. Each device has been developed to offer simplicity of use and increase user confidence. In many cases marine rescue systems are multi-functional, reducing the need to carry multiple pieces of rescue equipment and saving money in both product and training.

LiftEvac

liftevac1.jpgA controlled marine rate of descent device that combines evacuation with raising and lowering of a worker or casualty, LiftEvac offers high levels of safety and maximum flexibility for all rescue situations onboard.
Easy to anchor and control, LiftEvac is intuitive to use due to its ‘ratchet’ style raise and lower facility. The ratchet handle is telescopic to give more leverage when required and a second handle provides stability and control during use. This makes the raising of two persons very comfortable compared with other rescue products.

LiftEvac can be used to recover a casualty whilst the rescuer remains in a safe position, or if necessary the rescuer can descend to the casualty whilst maintaining complete control of the device. It is especially suitable for rescue in confined spaces, but due to its ease of use can be applied in a wide range of work and rescue situations.

EN341 Class A & EN1496 - ANSI Z359.4

Best for work positioning over short distances up to 20m and for high level rescue of a casualty from almost any situation.

Work height:
Up to 160m for 2 persons at a time (200kg)

Rate of descent/ascent:
 0.8 metres per second

Descent
: 0.2 metres per second ascent (dependent upon operator competence and fitness)

Rope:
10mm or 11mm (for Australian standards) kernmantle rope

EN341 Class A & EN1496 - ANSI Z359.4

Best for work positioning over short distances up to 30m and for high level rescue of a casualty from almost any situation you may come across.  The double handled Lift-evac is especially good for situations where ascent of a taller mast is required or where a faster evacuation from a confined space may be beneficial.

Work height: Up to 160m for 2 persons at a time (200kg)

Rate of descent/ascent:
0.8 metres per second

Descent
: 0.4 metres per second ascent (dependent upon operator competence and fitness)

Rope:
 10mm diameter kernmantle rope
