Controlled Descent Device - LiftEvac

controlled rate of descent devicewhitepadding.jpgwhitepadding.jpgEN341 class A & EN1496
ANSI Z359.4

A controlled rate descent device for evacuation, raising and lowering of a worker or casualty. The controlled descent device product offers high levels of safety. Best for work positioning over short distances up to 20m and for high level rescue of a casualty from almost any situation you may come across. This controlled rate descent device is easy to anchor and control and intuitive to use due to its ‘ratchet’ style raise and lower facility. The ratchet handle on the controlled descent device is telescopic to give more leverage when required and a second handle provides stability and control during use. This makes the raising of two persons very comfortable compared with other rescue and controlled descent products.

The Lift-evac controlled descent device can be used to rescue a casualty whilst the rescuer remains in a safe position, or if necessary the rescuer can descend to the casualty whilst maintaining complete control of the controlled descent device.
Especially good for wind energy rescue applications and confined space rescue applications, but due to its ease of use can be applied in a wide range of work and rescue situations from construction to broadcast and telecoms.

Work height:
Up to 160m for 2 persons at a time (200kg)
Rate of descent/ascent:
0.8 metres per second descent
0.2 metres per second ascent (dependant upon operator
competence and fitness)
Rope:
10mm or 11mm (for Australian standards) kernmantle rope

Easy to anchor and control and intuitive to use due to its double handle ‘ratchet’ style raise and lower facility. The ratchet handles are telescopic to give more leverage when required. This makes the raising of two persons very comfortable compared with other controlled descent device rescue products. The double handled Lift-evac is especially good for situations where ascent of a taller structure is required or where a faster evacuation from a confined space may be beneficial.
Work height:

Rate of descent/ascent:
0.8 metres per second descent
