Clear Vision Ensures Safety at Sainsbury’s
Capital Safety and their Approved Installer Rostek UK Ltd, from Sheffield have supplied and installed permanent roof safety systems to a new Sainsbury’s store in Colne, Lancashire.
Rostek installed 180m of Capital’s Roofsafe Cable System on ‘top fix’ anchor posts, allowing building maintenance staff to carry out essential cleaning and repair works in the future to an array of roof mounted plant and equipment, including ‘sun pipe’ natural lighting domes and signage.
The system, which was pre-specified by the architect to ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, enables continuous hands free access to all required areas of maintenance and prevents personnel from being exposed to fall hazards and work at height risks. This ensures that Sainsbury’s will be able to comply with Work at Height Regulations in the future.
The Capital RoofSafe Systems are tested and approved by Euroclad for installation on their SF500 roof system, which was installed by KeyClad Ltd. Additionally the systems are tested to BS EN795:1997, ACR[M] 002 2009 Testing of Roof Anchors on Roof Systems and are CE Marked to the PPE Directive.
Capital supported Rostek UK in designing the systems to provide the optimum levels of safety for the end client, meeting the budgetary needs of the project and provided on site support and audit services following the installation. Specification details are available via RIBA Product Selector/NBS which can be accessed via Capital’s web site. Alternatively contact Capital directly with your enquiry.
