Great Service for Church Roof

When architects Hawkes Edwards & Cave were looking for a fall protection solution to compliment their ‘Green Sedum Roof’ design for St Andrew’s Church in Malvern, they contacted Capital Safety for advice.

Capital helped to design and specify systems which could be used by the Church Warden to ensure that the roof could be maintained and preserved in safety. As the access requirement was short term, frequent and predictable, Capital specified a series of RoofSafe Anchors and a RoofSafe Cable Systems which allowed continuous hands free access to all the roof areas, whilst preventing a fall from the roof.

With Capital’s support Hawkes Edwards & Cave were able to effectively discharge their duties under the CDM Regulations and ensure compliance with the Work at height Regulations for their client. The fall prevention system offered a discrete solution, which was an important design consideration, as the architect’s were keen to preserve the appearance of the Church in its environment.

The RoofSafe Anchors are designed to prevent any ingress of water from the sedum roofing system, which was supplied by Torclad.

The RoofSafe Systems were installed by Capital’s Approved installer High Access Solutions and Capital also provided on site user training and installation audit for the Church Warden, Derek Barnes. Mr Barnes commented “I have been extremely pleased with the level of service and support tendered by both Capital and High Access Solutions.”

The Capital RoofSafe Systems are tested and certified to BS EN795:1997, ACR[M] 002 2009 Testing of Roof Anchors on Roof Systems and are CE Marked to the PPE Directive.
