Fall protection anchors for standing seam roofs
The design of the fall protection anchor is neat and unobtrusive, limiting any visual impact to the building. Anchors are constructed from high grade alloy and are anodised for long term corrosion resistance. (They can be colour coated to match the roof finish on request).
Aluminium used to make the fall protection roof anchors provides excellent future potential for recycling, uses sustainable resources in the production process and has a high level of corrosion resistance. In addition customers benefit from reduced freight charges as consignments of these fall protection roof anchors are lighter than other products and the roof anchors are easier to handle during installation works.
This fall protection roof anchor can be used on the following roof constructions:
- Aluminium 300mm to 500mm profiles. 0.7mm material gauge
- Steel 300mm to 500mm profiles. 0.7mm material gauge
Roof sheets should be non-fragile and validated as suitable for installation through testing or calculation.

Installation
The fall protection roof anchors are easily fitted from the top of the roof structure using aluminium clamps which do not penetrate the roof sheet. The number and size of clamps have been calculated to counter the overturning moment applied by the roof anchor in the first stage of activation and resist the shear load in the second stage of activation when the energy absorber deploys.
Clamps are available to suit a range of different standing seam roof profiles. All offer non-penetrative fixing solutions.

Structural Validation
Fall protection roof anchors can only be installed on roof systems that have been validated as capable of supporting the distributed loads applied in the event of a fall. Capital offer alternative solutions for roofs which are not suitable for fall protection roof anchors.
This predictable distributed load can be used to validate the roof systems suitability for use as a structural anchor and is always less than 0.5kNm.

Typical Installation Detail
The fall protection roof anchors are used for integrating Capital’s RoofSafe Cable fall protection systems into your building, thereby facilitating safe access.
The roof anchors are used for integrating Capital’s Roofsafe Cable fall protection systems into your building, thereby facilitating safe access. The anchors are modular in design and facilitate the installation of End Anchors , Corner Anchors , Variable Anchors and Intermediate Anchors to support the installation and use of a a continuous handsfree Roofsafe horizontal lifeline system. Anchors may also be used as a single point anchor for 1 person or 2 persons. (EN795 Class A2) For further information, please contact Capital’s Technical Department.
