RoofSafe Roof Anchors for Composite and Built-up Metal Profiled Roof Structures
Roof anchors and fall arrest anchors
The design of the roof anchor is neat and unobtrusive, limiting any visual impact to the building. Roof anchors are constructed from high grade alloy and are anodised for long term corrosion resistance. They can be colour coated to match the roof finish on request.
Aluminium used for the roof anchors provides excellent future potential for recycling, uses sustainable resources in the production process and has a high level of corrosion resistance. In addition customers benefit from reduced freight charges as consignments of these roof anchors are lighter than other products and the roof anchors are easier to handle during installation works.
This roof anchor can be used on the following roof constructions:
- Composite Panel Roof Systems
- Built Up Metal Profile Roof Systems
Steel roof sheets should have a minimum thickness of 0.42mm, be non-fragile and validated as suitable for installation through testing or calculation.

Installation
The roof anchors are easily fitted from the top of the roof structure using minimal penetrations. Fasteners with benefits for this specific application are used to ensure long term system safety is maintained. The fastener has a high tensile strength even on a very thin roof sheet, to counter the overturning moment applied by the roof anchor in the first stage of activation. It also has a very high shear strength which is important for the second stage of activation, the deployment of the energy absorber. Finally the fastener is resistant to vibrations and backing out, making the roof anchors particularly suitable for safety applications on metal roof systems. The fasteners and roof anchor are self-sealing having a waterproof washer beneath their head and sealing tape between the base plate and the roof sheet, which provides a complete watertight seal at 20% compression. The sealing tape is resistant to UV degradation and also acts to isolate the roof anchor from the roof sheet.

Structural Validation
Roof anchors can only be installed on roof systems that have been validated as capable of supporting the distributed loads applied in the event of a fall. Capital offer alternative solutions for roofs which are not suitable. This predictable distributed load can be used to validate the roof systems suitability for use as a structural anchor and is always less than 0.4kNm

Typical Installation Detail
The roof anchors are used for integrating Capital’s RoofSafe Cable fall protection systems into your building, thereby facilitating safe access. The anchors are modular in design and facilitate the installation of End Anchors, Corner Anchors, Variable Anchors and Intermediate Anchors to support the installation and use of a continuous handsfree RoofSafe horizontal lifeline system. Anchors may also be used as a single point anchor for 1 person or 2 persons. (EN795 Class A2) For further information, please contact Capital’s Technical Department.
